I’ll be the first to admit, I can’t train as much as I’d like these days. I know that sounds funny coming from the owner of a martial arts academy.

You see, I run a lot of my own classes and if I focus on my own training at that same I teach the classes it’s going to hurt the progress of the students.

That’s just the way it goes, most of the time. I’m okay with that because the students come first.

With that said, that doesn’t mean I still don’t get my training in. I always find time for that, no matter what.

I’m a big believer that even if you can only fit in a 20 minute workout, it’s still better then nothing. To many people are so fast to say things like “I just don’t have the time to workout”. Yeah right, come on man.

You need to make time for your training. If someone as busy as Arnold Schwarzenegger can find the time to workout then so can you.

I can use myself as an example to. I used to work 12+ hour days at a pizza shop. When I got done working it would be around 11pm at night.

I couldn’t gone home and went to sleep or whatever. No I knew I had to get some kind of workout in. I couldn’t stand the idea of letting a day go by without getting at least a little bit better.

So I’d do things like go running on the track. Or I’d lift weights at home in my small crappy gym.

The point is this: Do something.

Even if it’s just a little bit. Something like throwing 10 round kicks before bedtime is better then throwing no round kicks right?

So, even if you miss your martial arts class one night, still get some type of training in. Trust me the payoff is worth it 🙂
