Ah let me think about the first time I first saw the inverted triangle…good gracious it was back in 1997 when my instructor at the time was showing it to help with defense to the crossbody position(a common position in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA) The funny thing about a lot of techniques, including the inverted triangle, used in both in BJJ and MMA is that you sometimes forget them. Tonight was an awesome night for a few reasons, one was the great classes of course and the other was the promotion of 2 outstanding citizens and students. Danny “Red” Heath and Brandon “Big B” Hendrickson. They both moved to the rank of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt! Congrats guys, well earned indeed! I thought I’d talk the time for tonight’s blog to write a little story about both guys and how they came to get the blue belt. Lets start with Danny Heath.
