I wrote on another blog last night about Jon Trenge, by far one of the very best I’ve ever trained with. I know a lot of you guys and gals that don’t follow Wrestling have no idea who Jon is and what he’s done for the sport of Wrestling. Jon is the best Wrestler I’ve ever known that never won a NCAA title (and many other people feel the same way). Jon is a 3 time All American for Lehigh University, placing 2nd, 2nd and 3rd. (AA means placed in the top 8 in the country)
Jon suffered 2 very bad eye injury’s his Freshman year at Lehigh and had to withdraw from the NCAA tournament, a tournament which many people including myself felt he would have won. After the injury Jon had to wear goggles to protect his eyes from further injury. Jon like the warrior he is keep on Wrestling, quitting isn’t in Jon Trenge’s makeup…
I would jump out there and say that Jon is responsibly for 60% of my Wrestling skills. He used to work with me on skills and drills many hours at Lehigh, something that he didn’t have to do but did so because he’s a nice guy with a big heart. Jon has also worked with Team Lloyd Irvin a few times having conducted seminars for Brad Daddis (www.phillymma.com) and Master Lloyd Irvin (www.teamlloydirvin.com). Jon has also worked with UFC fighter Mike Easton at Lehigh back in 2006.
Below are some videos of Jon. I like to call him Master Jon Trenge because this guy is by far and away a master of Wrestling and he deserves the title. If you get a chance, I highly recommend the movie “Veritas”. It’s a documentary on Jon and what he went through with his eyes and Wrestling at the highest levels. If you want to see some awesome Wrestling and a great, well done movie then don’t waste time and buy this DVD! Click the link
