Kickboxing + Willing Student + Right Attitude = Winning
Using beginner level Kickboxing classes for better fitness and overall weight loss. Sound too good to be true? It’s not, no worries there. That’s the good news. “Thai Boxing” is fun and at the same time gets you in great shape.
The reason I decided to write about this topic is due to some things I’d heard the other day.
I was talking with some of our Thai Boxing Members about fitness and weight loss. I wanted to hear some of their stories. Many of the stories got me thinking about this weight loss effect that Muay Thai seems to produce.
Most of the members said they’d lost at least 10 pounds from the time they started Kickboxing. I also heard a lot of “toning up” results. Of course I’m happy as heck to hear all of this.
So now the question becomes, what is it about Kickboxing classes that cause you to lose so much weight?
Like I was saying, I spent some time talking with the students regarding weight loss and fitness. Not just Kickboxing, pretty much all the styles that go into true Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training. We all agreed that you lose so much weight because you end up working so many muscle groups that would otherwise never get focused on.
As most people will tell you, It’s pretty darn hard to duplicate a solid Muay Thai training session. Even with weight lifting or running outside. Something else that makes a huge difference is that you’ve got an instructor standing right there in class to push you, that “push” is what brings home the results.
Lose the weight is step 1, now how do you keep the weight off? Stick with Kickboxing silly!
How can you be sure the weight you’ve lost stays off? Come on dude this is easy.
Just stick with your freaking training routine! Pretty simple right? Think about it. You lose a bunch of weight with Thai Boxing classes, okay good. But then what? Do you stop taking classes? Nope! Stick with the training routine and with some will power and good life choices, the weight should stay off.
I could go on for days but i think the point’s been made. Stay fit, have fun and be sure to keep up with our Muay Thai Kickboxing classes. Do all that and you my friend shall be “A” okay 😉
