I’m not 100% sure how many of those reading this blog are familiar with strength and conditioning training but let me assure you it’s very important. This is where one of our coaches comes into play.
Meet Dave Miller or better known around IL as “Coach Miller”.
Coach Miller heads up our strength and conditioning programs and does a great job. I can tell you for a fact that his work with not only the fighters but also the basic level students has been huge for us.
So, what’s the difference between taking martial arts classes vs doing strength and conditioning training? Well, martial arts classes tend to be more skill based with 80% of the workout focus on techniques and tactics.
With a S & C workout, everything is focused on getting stronger, faster and cardio training. It’s a lot of lifting, bike matches, core work and so on. Pretty much anything and everything directed at functional strength and fitness.
Obvessly both types of workouts are fantastic. IMO the student who spends time working on both martial arts and S & C are the ones who excel.
No matter what in a nutshell it all boils down to this: You getting getting in the best shape of your life. S&C can help big time.
If that all sounds hunky dory with you then maybe you look into getting some private training lessons from Coach Miller.
These types of lessons will blow away anything some 19 year old personal trainer at the local gym could offer you. Not even close to be honest.
So yea, come learn from a guy who knows what he’s doing and can help you get to the top of your goal mountain. Below you can find Coach Miller’s bio as well as contact info. I highly recommend working with him. Two thumbs up!
