Ivey League Kids Summer Camp version 4.0 hits town this June 2014! Yup you heard right, we’ll be hosting another super fun summer camp for kids ages 3+.

I’ll be quick to point out that spaces are limited and we’ve almost sold out already. Act now and make an appointment with Miss Teresa, the sooner the better trust me.

Okay so in honor of this years summer camp I thought I’d write about the true value of a martial arts summer camp though the eyes of someone who took them as a child, me.

Why Mixed Martial Arts Summer Camp for your child?

Back when I was a kid, a long time ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth, I did a lot of summer camps. My mom put me in anything and everything. Baseball, football, swimming and of course Karate.

My parents liked to keep me pretty active so sports and martial arts seemed like a good fit. It was by the way, thanks mom and dad!

When it all boils down to it, I liked the Karate summer camps the most. I had fun, made friends and got to punch and kick things, it was pure heaven.

Through those summer camps I learned much more then how to punch and kick. I gained lots of great life skills too. Stuff like proper Eye contact, a form hand shake, honoring your word were just a few of the life skills I learned via martial arts summer camps.

I guess that wouldn’t shock anyone reading this blog, seeing as how I now own a martial arts academy. Still, martial arts camps are great for kids of all ages.

These days I run my own martial arts summer camps at my academy in Annapolis Maryland. I want my camps to change kids lives in a positive way just like it did for me.

What Do We Teach During Our Summer Camp?

The camps we run are a blend of many different styles of martial arts that make up what’s better known as “MMA”. Those styles include:

    • Muay Thai Kickboxing
    • Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
    • Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
    • Wrestling
    • Judo
    • Sombo
    • Boxing

What are the hours for your camp?

Aside from the benefits of so many styles of martial arts you get the added bonus of having your child monitored for 12 hours a day if needed. We offer our camp from 6:30am till 6:30pm.

    Still Unsure???

I’ve seen what my camps have done for the lives of so many kids in the Annapolis area. My advice to any parents on the fence is to take my word for it and enroll your child. It’s worth it, you’ll see the results soon enough.

I’ve got stories for days about kids and the success our camps help bring them. I’ll tell a quick one..

The other day I was bowing out the Lil Ninja’s class, which is our 5-9 year old kids. I was telling them that our summer camp was right around the corner and to get signed up fast.

One of my kids, 8 year old and Cape St Clair resident Lania “CraCra” Nick, jumped up in the air with joy. She told me and the class that she was already signed up and that it’s the best time ever. Well thanks for that little lady!

All the kids took off to their parents and begged them to attend. That’s all it took. Now I’m left with just a few spots.

Our “Karate” Summer Camps Teach Much More Then Punches and Kicks…

Punching and kicking is just a small part of what we do. We want to give your child skills that go far beyond the martial arts dojo.

Let us give your child the gift of confidence, discipline, self esteem, friendship and self defense. Your child will become a part of the team. A team of kids working to achieve the very highest levels of success in this happy little world! That’s the Ivey League way.

The summer is right around the corner, what will your child be doing with their time?
