Ask yourself something. Are you coachable?

I find that most people aren’t. And by that I mean most people won’t listen to advice that could help them in whatever it is they’re pursuing.

I can tell you that the fighters who listen to what their coaches say and try to do what they’re taught are more often then not the ones who rise to the top and become champions.

I know for me personally I was always very coachable. I did what I was told and looking back on it I’m sure glad I did.

I saw many teammates around me dismiss what the instructor would say and just do their own thing. It’s no surprise these same teammates never went very far in MMA.

My advice to any mix martial arts student is to be very open minded and take in the skills you’re taught. Do as your told because in the end your coaches only want to see you get better.

This advice starts at the white belt level and goes all the way through black belt.

I’ve been in this game for 25 years and even know I still find myself taking in different ideas related to techniques, skills and S&C.

The day I stop learning is the day I die. Do yourself a favor and embrace the extra coaching you receive and if you do you’re sure to become the best “YOU” you can be!

Enjoy the videos I posted below. A little extra coaching from me to you.
