It’s been awhile since our last Muay Thai Kickboxing Level 1 test. That’s due mainly to some changes we made within the Kickboxing System, changes that took some time for the students to learn and get adjusted to.
From what I’ve seen these last 2-3 months is terrific. At this point not only has everyone taken to the changes really well but also the skill level has gone through the roof!
So here we are, fall 2015 and it’s time for another Kickboxing Level test.
The next Level 1 test will take place on Saturday, November 21st 2015. The starting time will be 2pm sharp. Testing time runs about 45-60 minutes, give or take.
The Test will be conducted by myself (Danny), as well as Coaches Nick, Thor and Scott.
In order to test you’ll need full Kickboxing training gear including:
- Boxing Gloves
- Shin Guards
- Hand Wraps
- MMA Gloves Can Be Used But We’d prefer Boxing Gloves
In order to test for Level 1 you’ll need to be a current member of Ivey League MMA, with a minimum of 6 months training in our Kickboxing classes.
If you’re testing for Level 2 you’ll need to have over a year of training and be a member of our CAP Program. No exceptions**
During the test you’ll have to demonstrate a variety of Kickboxing skills. The skills will of course depend on which level you’re testing for, 1 or 2.
**No sparring will take place during the test** The test will focus on technique drills solo or with a partner only. No worries, you won’t be getting beat up 🙂
Some of the skills you’ll be tested on will be:
When and If you pass the test, you’ll receive (at no charge) your very own Level 1 or 2 t-shirt! You’ll also receive an official certificate with your new rank.
If you’ve been making it to our Fundamentals Kickboxing classes then you should be up to speed on the the techniques we’ll be testing on.
Cost to test? None. We don’t charge testing fees at Ivey League. I don’t believe in that. If you’ve got the time in and know the techniques that’s all you need. Oh and a smile doesn’t hurt 🙂
We’re expecting a good turnout so be sure to mark your calendars and save the date. Again, that’s Saturday 11/21/15 at 2pm.
Family/friends are more then welcome to attend to watch and offer support. The more the merrier I always say.
We’ve already begun training for this test so be sure to do your darndest to make it to class and rep out those techniques.
If you’re unsure about testing for any reason or have questions please feel to drop us an email at email@example.com or call (443) 949-7208.
We’ll do our best to guide you in the right direction.
Like I always say….have a super fantastic day! Oh and enjoy the Kickboxing technique videos I posted below.
