We’re very excited to announce our second kids in-house grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) tournament! This tournament will take place on December 13th, 2014 and is open to any and all kids that want to get out there to compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and No-Gi Grappling.
We did this type of tournament a few years back and it was a major success. The only problem we had was a lack of space due to old facility being a bit too small. The problem should be fixed now that we’ve got triple the mat space to work with.
Keep in mind this tournament is good for kids of all ages, genders and skill levels. Your child can be a complete beginner with only a few months of classes under their belt and be totally fine.
We plan to pair the kids up with other kids around the same age, weight and skill level. Every child will at least a few matches and like always, the safety of the children will be our #1 concern.
The tournament will be open to not just the kids of Ivey League but kids from outside schools too. We should have a good-sized amount of kids coming from top programs like Crazy 88 MMA, Camp Springs, OutFox MMA and Aberdeen Martial Arts.
We plan to run a smooth tournament and get the matches started early and moving along so that we don’t have to sit around all day like most tournaments (thank god).
