Big congrats are in order for longtime member, student and friend Frank Speaks. Frank received his BJJ blue belt from Coach Danny Ives in today’s morning fundamentals class.
Needless to say, Frank looked very happy 🙂 He should be, this is a big accompaniment for anyone who takes BJJ classes.
Coach Danny said that seeing Frank train so hard and get so good made it very hard to keep him at white belt anymore. We’re sure the other students would agree…
During the promotion Coach Danny talked about the process and what it takes in order to reach black belt. He said “sometimes the road will be smooth and other times pretty rough, but in the end you need to keep your eyes on the goal”.
That goal should be black belt. It’s not easy to get, but then again nothing big worth having ever is.
Frank’s main goal is clear, get to black belt. Step one is covered, he made it to blue belt. Next up will be purple, followed by brown then ending with the big one…BLACK BELT in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
