In the video posted below, we wanted to give everyone a chance to see what training at Ivey League MMA looks like. Morning classes are the ones being shown.
The class in the video is the Monday morning 9:30am Brazilian(BJJ) intro class. This is a fundamental class focusing on basic technques and learning the RIGHT way to do BJJ for self defense.
As you can see in the video, we have men and women that take classes here at Ivey League. For those not familiar with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it’s a ground-fighting style with submission holds that are designed to stop an attacker with either joint locks like armbars and kneebars, or with chokes such as the rear choke, guillotines and so on.
Master Danny Ives has been teaching and training in BJJ for almost 20 years. He was one of the first americans to being training, along with Master Lloyd Irvin. Danny has a vested interest in all his students and really enjoys working with them. Danny moved to Annapolis from Temple Hills, Maryland after he went to Annapolis to watch a Wrestling meet. He fell in love with the area and brought Ivey League MMA and high level Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the Annapolis/Severna Park area.
Ok enough talk…watch the video!
